The Venus Versa™ is an FDA-cleared medical aesthetic device that provides a powerful, non-invasive solution for treating acne vulgaris. It uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) with SmartPulse™ technology delivered through a specialized AC Dual applicator.

This innovative handpiece delivers two types of light simultaneously. The blue light targets the porphyrins within the P. acnes bacteria, leading to the destruction of the bacteria itself. At the same time, the red light penetrates deeper into the skin to reduce inflammation and promote faster healing. This dual-action approach allows us to treat both the underlying cause and the visible symptoms of acne, all while a real-time cooling system keeps you comfortable.

How does the dual-light system work?

It's a two-pronged attack. The blue light is set to a specific wavelength that is absorbed by the acne-causing bacteria, which effectively destroys them. The red light has anti-inflammatory properties; it calms the redness and swelling of existing pimples, helping your skin heal faster.

How many treatments will I need?

While this can vary, most patients achieve the best results with a series of 8 to 10 treatments, typically performed twice a week for a month. This schedule ensures we are consistently targeting bacteria and calming inflammation.

Is this treatment safe for my skin tone?

Venus Versa™ IPL treatments work best for light to medium skin tones. For darker skin tones, there is a higher risk of discoloration because the IPL energy is also absorbed by pigment in the skin. We will determine if you are a safe and suitable candidate during your one-on-one consultation.
